Summary

This hands on course is designed for advanced users who require comprehensive training to customize AutoCAD® Electrical software. You will focus on how to customize schematic and panel layouts; and how to leverage this intelligence. You will gain an overview of many AutoCAD Electrical utilities designed to enable you to quickly build and manage electrical-controls drawings. Extensive hands-on exercises throughout the class explore how to create electrical-controls production drawings and customize parts databases. All exercises and datasets in this class are based on the JIC (US) standard.

Who Should Attend

Those who have had some experience with AutoCAD Electrical and are setting up and managing AutoCAD Electrical.

Prerequisites

It is recommended that the student have a working knowledge of:

  • Microsoft® Windows® XP or Microsoft® Windows® Vista.
  • AutoCAD Electrical Level 1 or equivalent experience
  • Drafting, design, or engineering experience.

Objectives

The objective of this courseware is for students to learn the commands necessary for setting up professional electrical-controls drawings and manage the standards set by your company.

After completing this course, students will be able to:

  • Navigate the AutoCAD Electrical user interface.
  • Use the customization features of AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Build custom symbols and circuits.
  • Create, view, and edit the project settings and properties.
  • Extract data from drawings into reports formatted to match users' standards, and create automatic report settings for future reporting
